Nicholas Harding (b. 1956) is a highly regarded British-Australian artist known for his large scale lush painted portraits, landscapes and textured pen and ink drawings.
Since 1994 he has been a regular exhibitor in the Archibald, Wynne, Dobell, and Sulman prizes. In
2001, Harding won the Dobell Drawing Prize as well as the Archibald. Harding is represented in many public collections including the National Gallery of Australia, Art Gallery of New South Wales,
Newcastle Art Gallery and Tweed Regional Gallery & Margaret Olley Art Centre.
In 2013 Nicholas was awarded a study scholarship by the Art Gallery of NSW and spent 2 months in Paris in the Moya Dyring studio at the Cité Internationale des Arts. Nicholas’s most recent solo
exhibition Blood and Bone was held at the Olsen Irwin Gallery in July this year and his work features in the NPG travelling exhibition Arcadia: sound of the sea on show at the Tweed Regional Gallery from 2 October – 15 November 2015.
